Brewmaster Blog: Our Passion for Great Ingredients

Hi, I’m Bryan Derr with Anheuser-Busch’s brewery in Jacksonville, Fla. As brewmasters, it is our job to ensure the quality of our beers. Brewing a great beer all starts with the raw ingredients. We have long standing partnerships with growers across the country who share our passion for using only the best ingredients in our beers.  When the grains are delivered to our brewery, they are carefully evaluated for size, texture, and color.

We also perform sensory analysis to ensure the grains will give us the perfect taste we expect in our Budweiser.  We use only superior quality brewer’s rice to give Budweiser a clean, crisp taste.  We make tea from a sample of the delivered rice and taste it to guarantee its quality.

Our malt gives our Budweiser its perfect body and sweetness. After inspecting the malt, we chew the malt kernels to verify they are malty, sweet, and clean with no off flavors.  This ensures we have great malt ready to be brewed into a great beer. It is our duty to follow this process everyday to deliver the best beer in the world to our consumers.
